A Knox County R-1 School Bond Measure was on the April 3, 2012 ballot in Knox County.
This measure was approved[1]
This measure sought to issue a bond in the amount of $2.3 million in order to pay for repairs to the school buildings and facilities. The bond will not add to the current property tax rate, it will just extend the current levy for the repayment of the bond. School officials noted that the schools are outdated and need to be maintained in order to ensure students are safe and receive the best education they can get. Though all the projects which need money total up to $3.2 million, the school decided to ask for less and just fix those immediate needs.[2]
