Kristal is a candidate unlike others because she will put PEOPLE BEFORE POLITICS. As a small business owner, mother, advocate, and servant leader she has proven experience in achieving difficult missions. Kristal has a master’s degree in Strategic Leadership from Messiah University and decades of experience working with corporate and government leaders to build productive teams and solve problems. Kristal will listen to all her constituents and ensure that the people of Cumberland County have a powerful voice in Harrisburg.
  • WORKING FAMILIES – Create and maintain jobs that provide a living wage to enable families to thrive, not just survive. By listening to the needs of all constituents, I will support legislation and programs that will strengthen our community.
  • WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT - Protect the rights of women to make their own health care choices and decide their own future. Strengthen support systems like childcare, universal Pre-K and family leave so women can return to the workforce.
  • WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL – Listen to all constituents, regardless of party affiliation, to prioritize their concerns. Despite our differences, we must bridge gaps in state government and return to a world where we can disagree with respect and decency.
I am a defender of women's rights, equal rights, victim’s rights, public education and putting people before politics. I am thrilled to be making history in the 87th district. I will be the first Democrat to sit in this seat and advocate for you. Together, we are breaking glass ceilings by doing the right thing with character and true leadership.

We, the American people, have faced a brutal assault of sickness, death, separation, war, loss, and division. I will lead with courage and love that unites and breathes new life into what can seem hopeless. But I can’t do that without you. It’s time to elect YOUR representative. YOUR advocate
Everything I aspire to be involves love in action. I am not detailing the emotion of love, but instead the choice of love. The choice to put the mission and the people you lead before yourself. I learned love in action at home and at work.

My parents chose me and believed in me. My Dad is my logical sounding board of reason and my hero. He gave me the tools to become the best version of myself. My Mom demonstrated to me what true selflessness looks like while becoming my first fierce, powerful female role model. She is and will forever be the wind beneath my wings. I grew up in a modest family that was always working hard and striving for better.

In my professional career, I learned that love in action is also possible. I had two mentors who lived the choice of love and chose to put me first. They called it servant leadership. Mikey had been a Master Chief on a submarine prior to his career in state government. Tragically, we lost him too soon. JP, is still with me. I’m blessed to continue working together to show the world that true leadership is possible.

With the influence of all four of them, I learned what leadership really is. Leadership and love in action can be challenging, but it is without condition. It is absent from the natural tendency to the take sides with the person you like. It is mission centered and this kind of leadership is what can be expected of me as your representative and your advocate.

When defining the most important characteristics of our elected officials, there is one thing that we must seek first. A leader with character. A leader who has a true impact on our lives, is one who leads with integrity we can trust. They are leaders that do the right thing, regardless of cost or sacrifice. True character puts the needs of others before oneself.

Character is not an academic exercise. It requires will, courage, self-sacrifice and action. It is not something that can be “taught”, or you can “learn.” But instead, it is a choice that we make with every thought and every action. Character is a choice that is made consistently, continually and relentlessly deep from within WHO you are.

I use the following values as my life’s compass: Courage, Grace, Authenticity, and Love. I am a bold, relentless, warrior leading a life of character.
I have built my career on the foundation of servant leadership. As a servant leader, my priority is always mission first. As such, strong relationships are necessary to accomplish challenging tasks. One person can do great things, but with relationships, your influence is magnified.

I will build relationships with all of my constituents and House members, Republicans and Democrats alike, to enhance the quality of life in Cumberland County. I will focus on the “best” ideas and solutions – not on whom they come from.

Building relationships and teamwork will be mutually beneficial in accomplishing tasks. My mission will be to move all parties towards a place of collaboration.
I think it is important to be transparent about my own story in this instance.

Five years ago, my life was turned upside down. I was in a car accident that changed my life forever. I was driving to work on the same route at the same time as every other day. I was stopped at a red light and hit from behind by a truck at 55 mph. I never saw it coming. There were no noises, no screeching tires, just a truck wedged against my backseat.

The impact wasn’t just to my car, it was also to my brain.

I lost most of my memories. My writing was illegible; letters were backwards and often where numbers belonged. I could only do one thing at a time and that took immense effort. Normal tasks such as driving became impossible. I had fallen to rock bottom and my family’s basic needs were not being met.

I became a client of the system that had previously employed me - the PA Department of Public Welfare. There’s a false narrative that public assistance leads to unending reliance on government for financial support. I know from my professional and personal experience that this is not the case. In fact, it is the existence of, and need for these support systems that has enabled and now driven me to represent you. I understand and can speak intimately about the value of a system that is too often misunderstood and villainized, and instead should be applauded, and fully funded.

My experience motivates me to do my part in ensuring that all voices are heard. I started my small business to support women owning their power. Today, I am a renowned motivational speaker, thought leader, influencer, servant leadership authority.
The need for compromise comes down to quality of discernment. The stronger our sense of mission, the more difficult compromise can be. Also true, a strong sense of mission and values are needed to act with integrity.

When it is time for doing what is right there is no room for compromise. There is no excuse for hurting others because we are unwilling to make the sacrifice to be courageous and stand. When the mission is bigger than us and protects the people that cannot fight for themselves, the absence of concession must outweigh personal concerns.

Also, as legislators, we need to be able to honestly assess people and situations accurately, being bold enough to make adjustments and compromise for the greater good.
