Kristen Dexter
Kristen Dexter (b. July 20, 1961) was a Democratic candidate for Wisconsin State Senate District 23 in the recall election against incumbent Sen. Terry Moulton.
Dexter was a Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 68th District since 2009. Prior to her election she served on the Altoona Board of Education from 2002-2008.
Dexter is a member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), Beaver Creek Reserve, Eau Claire Chamber of Commerce, and the Wisconsin Farmers Union.[1]

- AB-15 Autism spectrum disorders, Asperger's syndrome, and pervasive developmental disorders not otherwise specified: insurance coverage required
- AB-63 Campaign finance law: scope of regulated activity expanded to include organizations or individuals who, within 60 days of an election, make a communication about a candidate or political party via the media; exceptions specified; forfeiture and fine penalty provisions
- AB-266 Business closing or mass layoff: employer required to provide contact information to the local workforce development board and certain support services information to affected employees

Dexter lost her bid for Wisconsin State Senate District 23 in the recall election against incumbent Sen. Terry Moulton. She announced her candidacy on January 30, 2012. Dexter previously defeated Moulton in 2008 to win the District 68 seat.[3]

Dexter defeated protest candidate James Engel in the Democratic primary on May 8[4][5] and will face Moulton in the recall on June 5.

2010

Dexter was defeated in her bid for re-election to Wisconsin State Assembly District 68. She was defeated by Republican Kathy Bernier in the general election on November 2, 2010. Dexter was unopposed in the September 14, 2010, primary election.[6] A recount request was filed with the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board on November 9, 2010[7]. The recount begun on November 11, 2010[8]. Bernier won the recount on November 16, 2010[9].

On her campaign site Dexter listed her positions, stating if elected she would, "Enact Comprehensive Healthcare Reform," "Create Opportunity through Education," "Restore Equitable Taxes," "Protect Our Environment," "Ensure Honest Government," and "Renew Enthusiasm for Change."[10]
