Strong Communities Strong communities are places that our Seniors feel secure and can retire with dignity. Strong communities are places that young families want to live in, raise a family and send their children to school. Strong communities are places were residents work together and look out for one another, one of the amenities I love about my own community. It starts with forcing our tax dollars to be invested in our neighborhoods first, not just downtown development. Well-paying Careers Too often the focus is on simply trying to connect workers to low-wage, temporary jobs--leaving many underemployed and unable to provide for their family long-term. We need to focus on expanding opportunities for our young men and women to have stable careers that ensure the success of families in Baltimore City, for this generation, and the next. Clean and safe streets We have a strong city that has plenty to offer, but too often the physical conditions of our neighborhoods are overlooked. We have to get serious about making our communities cleaner and safer for all. Trash, illegal dumping, and blighted homes are too common in the 8th District and we need leadership that is focused on cleaning up our communities.[3] |

Obviously, as law enforcement professionals, our focus of concern revolves around those issues that directly affect our membership including which candidates have expressed their continuing support of our difficult and often dangerous occupation and those whom, we believe, will work diligently with us to ensure the improved safety of the citizens of Baltimore.[3] |
