Kristi Lara was a candidate for the District 8 seat on the Dallas Board of Trustees in Texas. She lost election against incumbent Miguel Solis in the general election on May 10, 2014. Lara previously ran for an unexpired term in District 8 but lost to Solis on November 5, 2013.

Lara spent her youth studying at schools around the world as her parents served in the military. She holds a B.S. in sociology as well as a master's degree in education counseling. Lara volunteers her time with community organizations including North Texas Jobs with Justice, RISE UP! and the local chapter of Planned Parenthood.[1]

2013

Lara lost election to an unexpired term against fellow challenger Miguel Solis on November 5, 2013. The seat due for election in 2014 was vacated by Adam Medrano after winning a seat on the Dallas City Council.[4]
