Campaign themes

Wade stated the following about her campaign in a Q&A with Vote 411:[1]

Why are you running for the school board?
I believe in the direction the current school board is moving. I want to ensure continued school board cohesiveness. I also want to help grow the opportunities provided to our students and educators. I want our students to be successful and excited!

How does your background prepare you for this office?
I have always been involved with our schools, both in the classroom and with the district. Education runs deep in my family. I bring experience in management of people, profit/loss margins, sales bookings. And kids are my top priority.

How will you balance school district revenue with educational needs?
I'm learning more about the district's budget every day. We must strive to increase our funds per student, grow student opportunities in education and stay on top of the population growth we are experiencing now. Our voice into state government is strong, and must remain so to ensure our state funding increases. Facilities, faculties and curriculum must be managed closely.

Explain how you will use your position to improve the quality of education.
I am pro-technology, and I will bring my 24+ yrs in hi-tech experience to the board. I want to ensure we continue to focus on an outstanding student experience, ranging from agriculture to global business to the next generation of Internet. Our Academies are top notch! We have an outstanding district, and we must attract and retain the top educators for our students.

What are the most important issues facing your school district, and how would you address them?
We are in a district population growth that is astounding. We have to make sure the facilities and faculty are prepared and can accommodate the growth. Balancing the budget and district needs will be the challenge ahead. We need to prepare to be a 6A district, but continue to have the small town feel. Also, communication to our parents and community is of the utmost importance. I will bring my experience in customer collaboration to the board. I want all parents as excited as I am about NISD! [3]
