My husband, Charlie, and I moved to Lawrence after he separated from the US Air Force 21 years ago so we could raise our family here. All three of our grown children are proud graduates of Lawrence Central HS. While our children were in school, I supported them by being a Girl Scout leader, acting on the executive boards of several schools' PFOs and the LCPAA (Lawrence Central Performing Arts Association). I was also a committee chair for the Lawrence Township PAC for the 2019 capital referendum. Professionally I am a remote editor for 3Play Media. My work keeps businesses FCC, ADA, and Section 508 compliant. I am also an AVID tutor at Lawrence North HS. I really love working with teenagers and watching them realize and reach their full potential.

  • I live in a modest neighborhood and work two jobs to help support our family. I'm an everyday person wanting to represent the everyday people of Lawrence.
  • Honesty, integrity, and transparency above all.
  • I want Lawrence to be a sustainable community balancing economic vitality, social equity, and a commitment to our strong public schools.

I'm passionate about keeping our citizens safe.

I'm passionate about equity, inclusion, and representation in our city government.

I'm passionate about supporting our public schools and keeping them public.

I was a cashier at Showbiz Pizza in Fort Wayne, IN, and I worked there for one year.

The first historical event that I remember was the 1976 Bicentennial. I was almost six years old and really enjoyed all of the local parades and fireworks.

Involving residents in the government's decision-making process is key. Active listening will be a major part of campaign for office.

All of our first responders must have all the resources they need to have successful oucomes in their jobs. They need our full support. However, I think it's vital for common council to uncover other avenues of support to lighten their load. We can work together with the community to do this.

I think the city's environmental health is gaining traction. Events at Fort Harrison State Park and at the Civic Plaza are growing every year. I'm excited to see the new pollinator gardens across the city as well. I'm excited to work closely with other council members and the Parks Department to ensure Lawrence keeps funding and implementing initiatives that builds our environmental health.

No, I don't. While I have a strong understanding of how govenment works at various levels, I don't need to have professionally worked as a politicitian to have gained that knowledge. I am an everyday person wanting to represent the everday people of my district. I am representative of the type of people who also live here, work here, and play here with me.

My consituents will be my neighbors and friends. I have always done right by neighbors and friends. Through my years of giving back to my community, I have proven that I will listen to them, advocate for them, and fight for them. In addition, I have been an executive board member of the PFO at several of the schools in our district. During those tenures, our boards worked diligently to be transparent stewards of the PFO's financial resources. We supported the Lawrence Township Schools’ vision of “integrity, achievement, and service” by facilitating productive communication, promoting volunteerism, and contributing to student enrichment and achievement.

I'd like to leave a legacy of compassionate and collaborative leadership.
