Kristin Ballinger is a judge for Department 2 of the King County Superior Court in Washington. She assumed office in 2022. Her current term ends on January 9, 2029.

Ballinger won re-election for the Department 2 judge of the King County Superior Court in Washington outright in the primary on August 6, 2024, after the primary and general election were canceled.

She was appointed to the court on December 22, 2021 by Jay Inslee (D) to replace David A. Steiner.[1]

Biography

Ballinger received her bachelor's degree in history from Whitman College in 1993 and her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 1998. From 1999 to 2001, she served as a Judicial Law Clerk to William L. Dwyer. She then served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office from 2001 to 2003. From 2003 to 2004 she was an Associate at Perkins Coie LLP, then again a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Clallam County from 2004 to 2005. Directly prior to her appointment to the bench, she had worked as a Partner at Harrigan Leyh Farmer & Thomsen LLP since 2013.[2]
