Kristin Booth Glen
Kristin Booth Glen was a judge for the New York County Surrogate's Court in New York. She began serving in this position in 2006, following her election, and retired at the end of 2012.[1][2]
Education
Glen received her B.A. degree from Stanford University in 1963 and her L.L.B. degree from Columbia Law School in 1966.[1]
Career
Glen began her career in 1966 as a law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. She then practiced as an associate of the firm Rabinowitz, Boudin & Standard from 1968 to 1971 and as a partner of Boies, Glen & Karle from 1971 to 1980. She also served as a visiting associate professor at Hofstra Law School from 1978 to 1981. From 1980 to 1981, she was an associate professor at the New York Law School and, in 1981, she became an adjunct professor. She worked in that capacity until 1995 before joining the City University of New York to work as the Dean and a Professor of Law until 2005. She also worked as a Mediator and Arbitrator for JAMS Endispute from 1996 to 2005.
Glen's judicial career began in 1981, after she was elected to the New York City Civil Court of New York County. She was then elected to the New York County Supreme Court, New York, where she served from 1986 to 1993. From 1993 to 1995, she was an associate justice of the 1st Judicial District's Appellate Term. She joined the Surrogate's Court in 2006.[1]
