The voters of LD12 deserve to be able to cast a vote for a candidate who values community and truth. I am running to represent all of LD12, and will be proud to serve my community in the Arizona State House. At the urging of fellow LD12 voters, on September 19th I took action and filed as a write-in candidate for LD12 Arizona House of Representatives. I believe in maintaining strong neighborhoods, protecting public education, and ensuring access to affordable high quality healthcare. I will work to ensure Arizonans are free to make choices and live independently and will protect our communities by addressing urgent matters in the criminal justice system. My professional career has been in government administration, working for Maricopa County in the Public Health and Environmental Services Departments for over 12 years. During my time managing the finances for the Office of Vital Registration, we operated a $3.5 million fee fund and always stayed under budget. Our office was even voted the Phoenix New Times Best Government Customer Service in 2011. At home, my husband and I are raising our two children in Gilbert. In my free time, I enjoy traveling and volunteering in the community.
  • Truth and bipartisanship will guide my work in the Arizona State Legislature.
  • I will work to protect public education by bringing legislation back in line with Article 11 of the Arizona State Constitution.
  • The interests of all the residents of LD12 and the future of Arizona are what I will be beholden to, not personal interests or those of donors.
I am passionate about public education, fiscal responsibility, and ensuring the State government serves to improve the lives of its residents.
To function well, elected officials must have an appreciation for good government and governance. Currently we have an epidemic of anti-government individuals taking public office. We can see the negative impact this has on jurisdictions from school boards to the White House.
While it is not mandatory, I do believe it is beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government. I spent over a decade working in government administration in Arizona. That experience has given me a perspective on how legislation impacts the agencies mandated to carry out the laws and an appreciation for the essential work that government does.
Arizona has an Independent Redistricting Commission created by citizen initiative which serves as a model for other states.
