Career

Jackson began her political career as a legislative assistant for the U.S. House, where she advised on issues such as immigration, agriculture, drugs, trade, and foreign affairs.[1] In 2009, Jackson worked for the International Republican Institute (IRI)—a United Nations partner—where she served as an assistant program officer, focusing on developing and implementing proposals for improving good governance, consulting on political party organization and platform in Latin America and the Caribbean.[2][1]

In 2010, Jackson returned to the U.S. House, working, first, as the minority staff director for the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Western Hemisphere sub-committee, then, in 2011, she was promoted to director.[3][2] As director, she split her time between the committees and the office of then-Rep. Connie Mack (R-Fla.).[3]

Between 2013 and 2014, Jackson became an independent consultant, whose clients included the DCI Group—who subsequently hired her—IRI, PARES Resultados Sustentaveis, and the International Conservation Caucus Foundation (ICCF). Her primary geographical focus was the U.S., Brazil, Venezuela, Panama, Colombia and Bolivia.[1] In 2014, DCI Group, a Washington, D.C. public affairs firm, hired Jackson as a director. Her role at DCI was to help operate grassroots and public policy campaigns for clients in the area of energy policy and also in Latin American and Congressional issues.[2][3][4]
