Kristin Jacobs
Kristin Jacobs was a Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 96. Jacobs first assumed office on November 18, 2014, and was re-elected in 2016 and 2018. She held office until her death on April 11, 2020.[1]
Biography
Jacobs served on the Broward County Commission from 1998 until her election to the state legislature in 2014.[1] While on the commission, Jacobs worked on the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Compact, which led to an invitation from President Barack Obama (D) to join a national climate change task force in 2013.[2]
Jacobs ran for Congress in 2012 and lost to Rep. Lois Frankel (D) in the Democratic primary.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 20, 2014. Kristin Jacobs defeated Steven M. Perman in the Democratic primary and defeated Ronald Bray (I) in the general election.[9][10]

Politico listed the 22nd District race between Lois Frankel and Patrick Murphy as one of the five primaries to watch in 2012.[12] However, Patrick Murphy decided to run in the 18th District rather than the 22nd District.
