Kristin Janssen was an at-large member of the Cedar Rapids Board of Education in Iowa. The seat was up for general election on September 8, 2015. She defeated incumbent Ann Rosenthal and challenger Todd Cohenour for the at-large seat.[1][2]

As of 2015, Janssen was a project manager for Veteran's Health Administration.[3]

Four of the seven seats on the Cedar Rapids Board of Education were up for election on September 8, 2015. There were two at-large seats available, as well as a seat in District 1 and District 4.
Incumbent Mary Meisterling ran unopposed and won in District 1. The District 4 incumbent, Allen Witt, was defeated by challenger Rafael Jacobo. The race for the two available at-large seats included incumbents John Laverty and Ann Rosenthal, along with challengers Todd Cohenour and Kristin Janssen. Laverty and Janssen defeated Rosenthal and Cohenour for the two at-large seats.[4][5][6]

Funding
Janssen reported no contributions or expenditures to the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board during the election.[7] Any candidate spending, receiving or incurring debt in the amount of $1,000 or less was not required to file the disclosure form for campaign finances.[8]
Endorsements
Janssen received official endorsements from The Gazette, the South Central Iowa Federation of Labor and the Cedar Rapids Education Association.[9][10][11]
