  • Kristin Nelson is a lifelong resident of Chambers County, where she was raised by her

hard-working parents – Melvin and Donna Pike. Her late father worked in the bluecollar industry, and her mother served the Chambers County Board of Education for 38-years – instilling in Kristin a deep respect for faith, family, education, and community service. While Kristin has served in both public and private sectors, including seven years with the City of Valley in administration and three years as a 3rd-grade teacher at Lanett City Schools, her most meaningful role has been homeschooling her boys through Classical Conversations since 2015. She has served as a tutor and local representative of the

    program.
  • In recent years, Kristin has returned to work part-time at Harris Gray LLC, while continuing to serve her community with passion and dedication. She is a worship leader at Fairfax Methodist Church, Secretary of the Junior Variety Club, President of the EAMC Lanier Auxiliary Board, founder of the Chambers County Young Republicans, and currently serves as Chairman of the Chambers County Republican Party. In the Alabama Legislature, Kristin will be committed to preserving the values that make Chambers County and Lee County strong – faith, family, integrity, and service. She’s prepared to work hard and deliver proven results for our community.
  • “As someone who grew up on the Chambers-Lee County line, I know firsthand our district is full of hard-working families who are doing everything right, but still struggling to get ahead. We need more good-paying jobs, safer neighborhoods and schools, and to continue to protect our educational freedoms. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves, get to work, and deliver proven results for the communities I love!”
Kristin is committed to building a stronger local economy by supporting homegrown businesses, cutting red tape, and attracting new industries

that bring high-quality jobs to our communities. Her focus is on long-term economic growth that lifts up every corner of our state, especially rural and
underserved areas.
Keeping our neighborhoods safe starts with strong partnerships. Kristin will work side-by-side with local law enforcement, first responders, and
community leaders to reduce crime and strengthen public safety. She’ll support the resources and training that our officers need – while also investing in youth programs, school resource officers, and community
initiatives that prevent crime before it starts.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards, State legislative scorecards in Alabama

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
