Passion for Education and its transformative power. Held Numerous Leadership Roles on PTA, School Community Councils, and has contributed to educational initiatives and organizations. First Woman in Family to Attain a College Education, holding bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Utah State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

With over 30 years of experience as an educator and having lived in Midvale for 40+ years, I understand our community's unique needs. My focus is on promoting academic excellence for all students, ensuring their well-being and safety, and fostering an inclusive, supportive environment. I advocate for teachers' professional development, equitable access to resources, and open communication among all stakeholders to create a thriving educational system.
One of the most challenging experiences in my life was the unexpected passing of my husband, Mont, in February 2024. His loss was a profound reminder of how fragile life can be. Mont was a dedicated member of the Canyons School Board, and we shared a deep passion for quality education. In the wake of his passing, I am committed to continuing his legacy and upholding the values of education in our district. This commitment drives me to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed and thrive in a supportive, inclusive environment.
My policies for safety in schools are driven by the principles of inclusivity, support, and fiscal responsibility. I believe in creating safe, inclusive environments through comprehensive anti-bullying programs and mental health services. Ensuring the efficient use of school funds is crucial to maximize student outcomes and support at-risk students facing homelessness, poverty, or family issues. My goal is to foster a supportive environment where every student feels secure and valued.
