I am an alternative high school teacher, Doctorate of Education student, and non-profit Board President. I vowed at an early age to help the most people and do the most good I can in life. Education and politics are both passions of mine. My husband and I live in Fenton, MI with our two cats.
  • I am the candidate with the experience and education to fully know how school boards operate. I work with the students and parents the district serves.
  • Every single student deserves access to a safe, challenging, and rewarding education. Nothing should threaten or prevent that.
  • Being on the board, I can serve as a voice for marginalized students.
Education, anti-discrimination laws, Title IX, special education, teacher evaluations.
I look up to the strong leaders of our country and world, especially the women - Kamala Harris, Taylor Swift, Meryl Streep. I'd like to pave my own way.
I'm organized, dedicated, and have great communication skills.
To lead the district. They are responsible for hiring, firing, and evaluating the superintendent, as well as approving budgets for the district.
The first openly LGBTQ+ school board member in Fenton (possibly Genesee County).
I worked at a movie theater for almost two years.
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros.
Growing up part of the LGBTQ+ community.
To do everything in their power to ensure the prosperity of the school district.
Students, families of students, the community at large.
Being the President of a local nonprofit, I engage with the community on almost a daily basis. That being said, I could engage more with the athletics.
Supporting the needs of students. This is measurable by not only evaluations, but by student feedback.
Support the current plans and make sure bond money is wisely spent.
The fact that every student deserves to feel safe at school.
Students should have access to mental health services and mental health should be part of the curriculum. Staff should receive adequate time to attend to their mental health.
Run for Something, LPAC, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan
I think they handled it well. I think there could have been more pushback on those that refused to wear proper PPE.
Attend parent engagement events and ensure parents know they are able to talk to me about anything.
Transparency should be a priority, especially for school districts.
