Campaign themes

2014

Buzzard's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]

Jobs and the Economy

  • Excerpt: "One idea that I would work tirelessly to implement is the creation of an Aviation Hub in Northern New Castle County. We have under utilized land assets and close proximity to three airports and three major corporations with great goals for the future of aviation (Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Amazon)."

Education

  • Excerpt: "I would fight to bring education decisions back where they belong, to parents, teachers and students."
  • Excerpt: "Additionally, I would encourage our state-funded institutions of higher education to work with the business community to develop programs that would train our workforce for jobs that are available now."

Taxes

  • Excerpt: "I will fight against this [gas] regressive tax because I believe it is wrong for Delaware."
  • Excerpt: "We need to get our fiscal house and spending in order before we look for more revenue. When we look at more revenue, we need to make sure it has minimal impact, makes fiscal sense and the funds will be used responsibly and effectively."

Transparency and Accountability

  • Excerpt: "I will be an independent voice in Dover and will work to hold our government, a government that works for you, accountable for how they spend your money, make decisions and impact your life."
