Kyle Reid Chatham
Kyle R. Chatham was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 49 of the Oklahoma House of Representatives.
Campaign themes
2014
Chatham's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]
Agriculture
- Excerpt: "I will work diligently to defend and support our hard working Oklahoma farm and ranchers who have worked our red-dirt soil to produce those crops for all of your families."
Border Protection
- Excerpt: "For our protection, we must make a more profound contribution toward border patrol security. Those who have broken these written laws should not be allowed amnesty."
Cut Waste and Protect Tax Dollars
- Excerpt: "Our government should not incur debt, which hinders us, our children and our children’s children without our consent. I would support a “Balanced Budget Amendment” to the Constitution, provided it was done by reducing expenditures and not by raising our taxes."
Education
- Excerpt: "The parents should be allowed to have more control over the decisions made for the schools in their area. The federal government has ignored the parents' rights, put too many mandates on teachers, and required testing to the extreme. Their Common Core Curriculum was supposed to increase standards, but rather it created a curriculum that is not accommodating our children and preparing them for further post high-school studies. Common Core Curriculum needs to go."
Energy
- Excerpt: "I oppose government control of energy pricing, appropriation and production. We should be self-sufficient with our own energy sources right here at home increasing our own standard of living with our own ever growing extensive energy sources."
