|With a background as a small business owner I bring the management experience needed to run the office of Harris County Treasurer efficiently and to look for opportunities of improvement across the county government to make it more easily navigable for citizens and to reduce the cost of governance.
My academic training includes a PhD in political science from the University of Houston and MBA with a specialization in finance and accounting from Rice University and a BA from the University of Texas at Austin.
- 1.) Fiscal Responsibility. Harris County has seen its budget grow exponentially over the past few years and it is the Treasurer’s responsibility to act on behalf of taxpayers to make sure the money is being spent responsibly and prudently. The current administration has wasted the taxpayer's money on needless and frivolous expenditures.
- 2.) Operational Efficiency. The County Treasurer oversees the distribution of unclaimed county funds. I will make the process easier, faster and more cost effective to get recipients their money quicker.
- 3.) Modernize. We need to deploy the most modern technologies and management practices to ensure that the operations of the county are efficient and secure.
