I am a lifelong resident of NY-19, born in Rhinebeck, raised in Poughkeepsie, and proud graduate of Spackenkill High School, (go Spartans!) and currently live in Millbrook with my wife, Melissa, our 11 year old triplets and 6 year old son.

I am currently a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves JAG Corps and an attorney at Corbally, Gartland & Rappleyea, LLP in Poughkeepsie.

I am a proud veteran of the United States Army and received a Bronze Star during my deployment to Kabul, Afghanistan in 2011 and the Meritorious Service Medal and my honorable discharge from the Army in 2014.

I am a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, which I attended on an ROTC scholarship, and Albany Law School. I received my Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Economics as well as the Distinguished Military Graduate Award.

Following law school, I served as an active duty member of the United States Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps, where I worked as an attorney at the United States Military Academy West Point.

From 2017 to 2018 I served as a Village Trustee in Millbrook.

  • believe we must reopen and enthusiastically support small business. The American landscape has changed in response to COVID-19 and rioting as many Americans are fleeing large cities such as New York City for places like those here in NY-19. Such an exodus has created the need for small businesses and we need to provide tax cuts via opportunity zones to get them up, running, and thriving! I will fight to bring more business, more jobs, and more prosperity to NY-19.
  • I will be a champion for local farming and agriculture. The importance of local farms and agriculture has never been more clear than it is today. In addition to being beneficial for our small businesses and personal health and nutrition, local farms and agriculture exist outside of national food supply chains- which as we have seen in the recent COVID-19 pandemic are subject to interruption - and will ensure that no American goes hungry. The farming and agricultural communities have my unequivocal support and I will work tirelessly to ensure that my fellow Representatives recognize the vital importance of farming and agriculture to our nation.
  • We have to protect our communities and keep our families safe. We need law and order not anarchy and pandemonium. We need to support our brothers and sisters in law enforcement and not those who riot and loot and threaten to burn our communities down to the ground. The police put their lives on the line for our safety, the very least we can do is provide them with the equipment they need along with our gratitude.
Agricultural Trade Policy - It infuriates me that our farmers are forced to dump millions of gallons of milk every day. This type of waste exemplifies the problems created by artificial and seemingly arbitrary restrictions on free trade. We need more deals like the USMCA, we need to open more markets for the great farming and agricultural communities of NY-19. The produce and dairy from NY-19 is of the highest quality and with trade agreements such as the USMCA, I am confident that our farms will have to grow to keep up with the demand. Additionally, supporting our local farms ensures that we will not see food shortages when the supply chain is interrupted.

Protecting our Farms and Agriculture - President Trump's Navigable Waters Protection Rule brought clarity to what constitutes the waters of the U.S. I look forward to working with the President on strengthening the protections for our farms and rural communities.

Prescription Drugs - Generic medication increases competition in the marketplace and lowers the cost of prescription drugs for all Americans. We have made great strides under the Trump Administration and we absolutely must continue this trend.

Broadband/Cell Service - High-speed Internet access and district wide cell service are absolutely critical for not only our citizens' safety, but also for encouraging businesses to open in our more rural areas. This has been a problem for NY-19 for a long time and has only been exacerbated by COVID-19 lockdowns.
I was a paperboy when I was 13 for several months. Getting up at 5am taught me a great deal about work ethic which I carry with me till this day and will bring to the U.S. House of Representatives.
The House of Representatives gives local communities a champion on the national level for the issues that are most important to them. People in Manhattan and San Francisco don't care about broadband access for rural communities or the impact of international trade agreements on farming and agriculture or President Trump's Navigable Waters Protection Rule, but people here in NY-19 care very much. I know because I am one of them. I know how dangerous it is to be driving in remote areas with no lifeline in case of an emergency because there is no broadband or cell service. I know how much comfort I take in knowing that my family will always have food on our table because of our local farms. The House of Representative is a uniquely personal institution which is at its best when we send a neighbor to advocate on our behalf rather than a politician.
