|My wife Katie and our two boys are the center of my life. No state bureaucracy will ever care about them – or fight for them – like I do. That has been made crystal clear to many North Carolina families over the past two years.
Professionally, I have worked with and for public agencies. I understand the limitations of what they can achieve – even when staffed by good-meaning people. I understand that a new state policy can’t make you rich or even happy. Each new policy – carefully crafted by powerful lobbyists – will only create new burdens for you and make it that much harder to achieve true independence.- All parents, not just wealthy ones, should be able to choose where their children attend school.
- We need to end the War on Drugs and drastically change how we police our communities. Victimless crimes aren't crimes.
- The state's heavy interference is why our healthcare system is broken. End Certificates of Need and countless other regulations that hamstring doctors and nurses.
