I am a husband to my wife, Ashlea, and a father to my two children, Sofie and Max. I have lived in Anderson County since my parents were honorably discharged from the Marine Corps when I was five years old. I am an attorney whose practice involves litigating against the government. I went to public school in Anderson County as did my brother, my dad is a public school teacher in Anderson County, and my kids and nieces and nephews attend public school in Anderson County. I enjoy fishing and hunting, and other outdoor activities with my kids. I also enjoy coaching youth soccer and attending our church.
  • We must crack down on illegal immigration. This involves the state doing what we can to assist border states with illegal immigration efforts and doing what we can to crack down locally.
  • We must support law enforcement by proving the resources they need to keep us safe.
  • We must protect the second amendment and keep it strong in our state.
I am passionate about cracking down on illegal immigration, supporting law-enforcement, and keeping the second amendment strong. In our House district, we are blessed with good public schools, and I am passionate about keeping them good and helping to improve them. I am also passionate about finding ways to fix our crumbling infrastructure and to bolster the infrastructure to keep up with the influx of people moving to our state.
Honesty and integrity, and dedication to serving constituents.
I believe the core responsibility is to bring as many resources home to the district as possible, and to serve the interests of the people in the district by advocating for those interests in Columbia.
Separation of powers and checks and balances are maintained, but a professional working relationship where everyone works together to solve the problems of our state for the voters.
Illegal immigration, crime and punishment, and roads and infrastructure.
Absolutely, and I believe that my years of experience in litigating against the government and having to understand and apply the constitution on a nearly daily basis will help me serve the people of the district better than if I did not have that experience.
Yes, working with other legislators is imperative to solving problems for the people of the district. Being able to work with other people is a strength that should be celebrated.
Most of the ones I have admired are the ones you never hear about, because they just do their job for their constituents without pomp and circumstance.
Someone told me that they had lost all hope in government and assumed that everyone running for office was slimy and crooked until they met me. They were inspired by a younger person who seemed to them to be running for all the right reasons. That motivated me to keep going in a world where there’s so much negativity in politics.
Committees related to schools and transportation, as well as law enforcement.
I believe government should operate openly with full transparency.
