This measure sought to allow the district to adopt a budget which exceeds the set revenue limit by a rate of ten percent for a period of six years in order to further pay for capital improvement projects in the district.[2]
Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
| Shall the Governing Board of Kyrene Elementary School District No. 28 of Maricopa County, Arizona, adopt a budget which includes an amount that exceeds the capital outlay revenue limit specified by statute in the amount of the lesser of $6,834,000 dollars or ten percent of the District’s revenue control limit per fiscal year for fiscal year 2012-2013 and the six fiscal years thereafter? The budget override authority and projected tax rate represent an extension of the existing budget override authority and resulting tax. As required by statute, the capital outlay override amount is limited to 10% of the revenue control limit each year.[3] |
