2016

The following issues were listed on Worthington's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • One Election Standard for Federal Offices: It is my purpose to propose legislation to standardize the election process for all federal elections. This will include presidential primary campaigns and general elections as well as congressional elections.
  • Safe Roads and Bridges: It will be my goal to propose or support legislation to upgrade and repair our highway systems, which have become dangerous to the public in their neglect. Our roads and bridges need inspection and maintenance to ensure safe driving for the public and increase the efficiency of transportation of commercial goods.
  • Invest in job training beyond High School: It is a fact that a high school education is no longer adequate for most jobs today. I will propose legislation to expand public education to community college programs in the CTE category (Career and Technical Education). CTE programs are the base programs for job training. By expanding this program to those who are seriously pursuing or upgrading job skills the community benefits, business benefits, and students benefit. It's a win-win.
