Lou Svetlik

First elected in 2002, L.J. "Lou" Svetlik is the District 3 representative on the Victoria Independent School District school board in Texas. Svetlik ran unopposed in the general election on May 6, 2017. Due to lack of opposition, the election was canceled and Svetlik was automatically re-elected.
Because both seats up for election on May 10, 2014 were uncontested, the district canceled the election and Svetlik was automatically re-elected.[1]
Biography
Svetlik is a graduate of Hallmark Aero-Tech of San Antonio, a licensed Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mechanic, a certified inspector, and a private pilot. He and his wife, Loretta, have three children who are graduates of the district.[2]

Two of seven seats on the Victoria Independent School District board of trustees were scheduled for by-district general election on May 6, 2017. District 5 incumbent Tami Keeling and District 3 incumbent Lou Svetlik were the sole candidates to file for either race. Due to the lack of opposition, this election was canceled, and Keeling and Svetlik were automatically re-elected.[3]

2014
The district canceled this election since both incumbents were running unopposed. Incumbents Tami Keeling and L.J. "Lou" Svetlik were elected by default.[1]
