I am a lifelong Pinevillian who like my father [Vol. Firefighter 45years] and grandfather [councilman and town manager] have spent most of my life trying to make Pineville a great place to live. I served as a Volunteer Firefighter for 40 years, the town planning board for 4 years and as a Town Councilman for 14 years. I worked for the Charlotte Fire Dept. for 27 years until I retired. I am passionate about making Pineville one of the best places for all of us to live. I was on council when Mr. Miller decided to sale the property , now McCollough, and met with him to help convince him to sale the property to John Wieland instead of the Crosland/Centex who were being considered for the development. This resulted in a much better development for the town. I worked many hours with the Wieland reps and town staff to get the great community that is McCollough. The experience I gained from working on this development and many others from my past years on the planning board and town council will be instrumental in the development of the 250 acres across from McCollough. No one else running for council or either of the 2 council members staying on council can compare with my experience in dealing with development issues. I would ask that everyone speak to current council members, the Mayor or the Planning Director , Travis Morgan about the statements I have made. I would especially ask those of you in McCollough to speak to Councilman Maxim for his thoughts about my experience,
  • Priority funding for Police and Fire Depts.when budgets are developed. Their preparedness affects all of us
  • I will work hard to see that work is done on the economic develoment of our Main St and the old Mill Property
  • That I will be available to the citizens of Pineville 24/7 to listen to their ideas, opinions and answer questions
In a small town like Pineville the budget process has to rise to the top of the list. We have a wide variety of people of all ages and socio-economic levels. So while a 1 cent increase in a tax rate may not affect some citizens it could mean the difference in buying needed medicine or buying food. for others. We must always be aware of these people on the lower economic levels during the budget process. Public Safety will always be the most important aspect of the budget and funding for these departments is top priority. Keeping our Public Safety Depts. adequately funding affects everyone.
This is ground level politics where people can still talk directly to their representatives and see their ideas possibly have an effect on the outcome of issues, good and bad.
That I am a leader and will listen to what people have to say no matter how simple it may seem to me it may be the very important to them.
You are responsible to the people who elected you and should never forget it.
That Pineville would be a better place to live because of decisions that I made while on the council
Yes, That is why Pineville chose to stager the term of council members 2 years ago. A good example how prior experience is important is we have 2 members who choose not to run again and the 2 remaining members have 2 years and 6 years experience. That is the main reason I feel my past experience of 14 years on council and 4 years on the planning board make me a great candidate to be elected at this time.
Being opened minded to everything that is brought before council and hear what everyone has to say before making your decision.
