L. Mack VanAllen was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 10th Congressional District of Ohio.[1]

Biography

VanAllen earned a bachelor's degree from Miami University in 1967. He went on to receive two master's degrees, one from the University of Missouri in 1972, and the other from Miami University in 1984. From 1967 to 1971 and from 1973 to 2005, VanAllen taught middle and high school. In 1970, he co-founded Eagle & Hawk Wilderness Adventures. He retired from teaching in 2005.

VanAllen ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Ohio's 10th District. VanAllen lost to Sharen Swartz Neuhardt in the March 6, 2012 Democratic primary.[2]
