- It is time to pave a path for the next one hundred years. What worked before is no longer working. One of the most commonly used definitions of insanity is doing the same thing over and over the same way while expecting different results. It is time for us to look beyond the typical insiders of Oregon state government and create opportunities for broader engagement at every level. We must include more than the familiar faces we see in Salem and those who maintain the status quo within agencies.
- It is time to sacrifice together so we can grow together. We must let go of our past so we can embrace a healthier future for generations to come. We must stop viewing Oregon only through the I-5 corridor and ensure the entire state has a seat at the table. And until we find a way to work together again, we should stop moving forward individually and remember that this is a team effort. Our smallest communities and counties should not be discounted simply just because they are small in numbers.
- I’ve called Oregon home for over a decade and have spent that time working alongside communities across the state, especially in rural Oregon. What worked in the past isn’t working anymore. The challenges ahead will require honesty, shared responsibility, and a willingness to change. I’m running as a non-affiliated candidate because Oregon deserves leadership that puts people above politics.
