Two Lake Holcombe School District Levy Increase measures were on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the Lake Holcombe school district area which is in Chippewa County.
Both measures were defeated
The first measure sought to increase the current property tax for a total of $950,000 annually to pay for renovation costs in the district as well as paying off existing debts. The proposed renovation projects include the school's science rooms and the gymnasium.
The other measure sought to increase the property tax by a rate of $685,000 annually in order to pay for operation expenses in the district. School officials note that costs continue to rise in the district so the additional money is needed to maintain the current level of programs and services offered to the students.[1]
