This measure sought to implement a sales tax set at a rate of two-tenths of one percent for a period of four years in order to help pay for storm water controls and park maintenance costs in the city.[2]

The question on the ballot:
| Shall the City of Lake Saint Louis impose a sales tax in the amount of two-tenths of one percent on all taxable retail sales to provide funding for public local stormwater control and local parks, said sales tax shall have a Sunset Clause for the sales tax to automatically expire four (4) years after this tax is implemented?[3] |
