A Lake Shastina Community Services District Public Safety Parcel Tax, Measure D ballot question was on the June 3, 2014 election ballot for voters in the Lake Shastina Community Services District in Siskiyou County, California, where it was defeated.
If approved, Measure D would have authorized the district to replace its special parcel tax by a special tax of $124 per parcel per year.[1]
A two-thirds (66.67%) vote was required for the approval of Measure D.

To maintain local fire protection, emergency medical and police first responder services for properties within Lake Shastina Community Services District, so that victims of crime, heart attack, stroke, and fire emergencies can receive rapid response, shall the existing police and fire special taxes be replaced with a public safety tax of $124 per parcel annually, subject to yearly adjustment for six years, and collected per District policy, with all revenue staying in our community.[2] |
