Many of you know me as a friend or as the Clerk of Early County, but for those who are unfamiliar, I'm Lakieta Warren, and I want to continue to serve my community as your next Early County Tax Commissioner.

I’ve called Early County my home for most of my life, graduated from Early County High School, and married my husband of 15 years, Donald. We have five children; one adult child and four who are students in the Early County School System. We’re members of New Zion Baptist Church, where my uncle, Darryl Alexander, pastors.

I’ve been honored to serve the community as a dispatcher for the City of Blakely’s E-911 Call Center and then as the Early County Administrator assistant. Upon proving my strong work ethic, professionalism, and unwavering integrity, I was promoted to the Clerk of Early County. I have worked consistently to build and uphold that reputation with the Early County Board of Commissioners, County Administrator, and our citizens.

My current position interacts with the Tax Commissioner’s Office on a daily basis so I am very knowledgeable of the requirements of that position and office. I promise to uphold the laws and proper procedures of the Tax Commissioner’s Office, value your hard-earned tax dollars, and treat citizens with the respect they deserve. I also want to usher in a counter-culture mindset in government service that we work for you, not the other way around.
Honesty, experience, morality, compassion, competence, and leadership ability
Honesty, Integrity, Intelligence and a willingness to listen and learn.
The official responsible for receiving tax returns filed by taxpayers or designating the board of tax assessors to receive them; receiving and processing application for homestead exemption; serving as agent of the State Revenue Commissioner for the registration of motor vehicles; and the performing all functions related to billing, collecting, disbursing and accounting for and disbursing ad valorem taxes collected in this county.
Fiscal transparency informs citizens how government and tax revenues are spent and is a critical element of public financial management. Transparency provides citizens a look into government budgets and those citizens, in turn, hold governments accountable.
