Lamar Davis was a member of the Arkansas Public Service Commission. He was first appointed by outgoing Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe (D) on January 6, 2015, for a two-year term, but resigned effective November 25, 2016, in order to take a job in the private sector. He was succeeded by Kimberly O'Guinn.[1][2]

Davis' appointment filled the seat vacated by Commissioner Colette D. Honorable, who resigned following her confirmation by the U.S. Senate as a member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.[1]

Prior to joining the public service commission, Davis served as deputy chief of staff for Gov. Beebe from 2007-2015.

His state government experience also includes working in the Office of the Arkansas Attorney General as a consumer-protection attorney.[1]

Public Service Commission (2015-2016)

Davis was first appointed to the Arkansas Public Service Commission in January 2015, for an abbreviated term.[1]

Resignation

Davis resigned from the commission less than two months before his term was set to expire. In his resignation announcement, Davis made the following statement:

I have had the distinct privilege of serving the people of Arkansas as an Assistant Attorney General, a member of the Governor’s Staff, and as a Commissioner with the Arkansas Public Service Commission.

These roles have afforded me the opportunity to work with countless public servants to serve the people of Arkansas which has been very rewarding. I now have been offered a position in the private sector that will afford me the opportunity to champion policies to help advance the goals of our beloved state and region.[2][3]
