A hotel tax measure was on the ballot for Lancaster voters in Los Angeles County, California, on April 14, 2020.[1] It was defeated.

A "yes" vote supported authorizing the city to levy an additional 2% hotel tax, thereby increasing the hotel tax rate in the city from 7% to 9% and generating an estimated $642,537.23 per year.
A "no" vote opposed authorizing the city to levy an additional 2% hotel tax, thereby leaving the hotel tax rate in the city at 7%.


A simple majority was required for the approval of Measure B.

Ballot question

The ballot question was as follows:[1]

Shall the City of Lancaster adopt an ordinance increasing the transient occupancy tax paid by hotel, motel, or other lodging guests staying within the City of Lancaster for a period of thirty (30) consecutive days or less by 2%, providing approximately $642,537.23 in increased annual revenue to the City?[2]
