|I have worked in public accounting, as well as non-profit and governmental accounting. I have worked with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, standing up to the IRS, and helping individuals and small businesses understand how to make their businesses work more efficiently and make more money. I understand budgets, and I will make common sense decisions with your money.
I was not born or raised in Eastern Washington; I chose Eastern Washington as my home. This is the best place to live and to raise a family. I didn't live the beginning of my life here, but I have made this my home. And I want to work to make this community a better, a more just and equitable place for my grandchildren.- Early Childhood Education

Children deserve safe child care; families and businesses need guaranteed safe affordable child care. We already recognize the value of K-12 education and take on the cost as the cost a democratic society pays to have a healthy and educated electorate. Now we need to take the next step: guaranteed, safe affordable child care from birth through five years. The lack of safe affordable child care holds back businesses and wastes productive capacity. This is why businesses need a responsive, available workforce able to work odd hours and long shifts when business conditions require.
I believe that every community should have a board of community members to oversee what the police and sheriff departments do, and the other types of professionals that they add to the teams, such as mental health professionals and social workers. The legislature can ensure that every city across the state prioritizes these community oversight committees in order to move forward in fighting for racial justice, better mental health care, and caring for our homeless neighbors.
Our family is one example of the American Dream. I want to continue the dream by going to Olympia and standing up for other families fighting for the same opportunities that we were given. Whether you're a 5th generation Washingtonian, or a newly arrived American, we all deserve the same chance at the American Dream.
Legislators are supposed to listen to their community members, and take their concerns to Olympia. Holding town hall meetings, and communicating with all their constituents, not just their supporters is of the utmost importance.
As a grandparent, the Early Childhood Education Committee is important to me.
