I’m Landon Dooley, and I’m running for the New Mexico House of Representatives in District 40. I’m a combat veteran, rancher, husband, father, and small-business owner—and I’m stepping forward because District 40 deserves representation that is present, reachable, and accountable to the people.

I was raised in a family business where long hours weren’t an exception—they were the standard. We worked seven days a week, sunup to late at night, and that upbringing taught me to show up, tell the truth, finish the job, and take care of my people. Military service strengthened that mindset through duty, discipline, and leadership under pressure.

My wife and I have built our life and permanent roots in northern New Mexico, where we’re raising our children and working the land. I’m not a career politician, and I’m not interested in politics-as-usual. I believe the Constitution comes first, elections should be secure, and government should be limited, transparent, and accountable. My focus is practical: safer communities, strong schools, support for law enforcement, responsible stewardship of our land and forests, and an economy that rewards work and small business.

If elected, I will show up, listen, answer questions directly, and measure my service by results.
  • I’m Landon Dooley, a combat veteran, rancher, husband, father, and small-business owner running for New Mexico House District 40. I was raised in a family business where showing up and finishing the job wasn’t optional. The Army strengthened that mindset—discipline, duty, and accountability. I’ve built businesses, created jobs, and put down permanent roots in northern New Mexico. I’m running because District 40 deserves a representative who is reachable, present, and focused on results—not politics-as-usual.
  • My approach is simple: listen first, tell the truth, show up, and deliver. I believe the Constitution comes first, families deserve safe communities, and government should be accountable to the people it serves. I’m not a career politician—I’m a working New Mexican who understands budgets, operations, and what it takes to solve problems under pressure. If elected, I will be accessible and responsive to constituents across Colfax, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, and Taos.
  • I’m building a grassroots campaign rooted in service and local values. I support secure elections, public safety, responsible stewardship of land and forests, and a stronger economy that rewards work and entrepreneurship. I’ll fight to end the revolving door for violent repeat offenders, back law enforcement, protect parental rights, and ensure state government is transparent and accountable. District 40 deserves practical leadership with backbone and humility.
Public safety and accountability are personal to me: ending the revolving door for violent repeat offenders, strengthening school safety, and supporting law enforcement training and retention. I’m also passionate about secure elections, parents’ rights in education, responsible management of state lands and forests, water and wildfire prevention, and economic policies that help small businesses and working families succeed. I want New Mexico government to be transparent, responsive, and focused on measurable outcomes.
At this stage, my campaign is grassroots and community-driven. I’m actively meeting with local leaders and county organizations across District 40, and I will update this section as endorsements are finalized and published.
