I am running for Eaton County Commission to represent everyone in the district as a dedicated public servant. As an eighth-generation Eaton County resident, a proud graduate of Grand Ledge Public Schools, and an active community member, I will always be present to listen to and address residents’ concerns.

I see so much potential in Eaton County. Yet, our commission has caused budget shortfalls through their inaction. I am running for county commission to fix these issues and to bring my experience to build a stronger future in Eaton County. I am a Master of Public Policy graduate- studying local government policy. I also regularly attend township and county board meetings because I recognize the importance of being prepared to start serving the community once elected. With experience as a nonpartisan nonprofit leader, I will work with anybody to accomplish positive results.

With bipartisan support, I will represent everyone -- building a stronger future in Eaton County.
  • For far too long, the county commission has ignored persistent funding challenges that have grown in severity. Unfunded pension liabilities have limited investment into our future as we failed to cover our past debts. We must elect a commissioner willing to tackle issues instead of kicking the can down the road. Due to the unaddressed budget concerns, critical services are at risk. We have already lost 24/7 road patrol by the Sheriff’s Office due to vacancies - brought on by below-average pay. Many of our other county employees are also underpaid. If we continue losing staff, Eaton County will not be able to maintain services, and residents will be left without support. I am determined to find a solution that builds a stronger future.
  • High-speed internet has become a vital utility. Unfortunately, many areas still lack access. With online meetings, classes, banking, and shopping now normalized, it is more important than ever that the Internet is accessible and affordable everywhere. To achieve that in Eaton County, the county commission must prioritize finding broadband partners to expand high-speed internet in dead zones. Not only should we support those without access to broadband internet, but we should also expand fiber optic connections to provide 21st-century speeds.
  • The cost of housing has continued to increase rapidly – far outpacing wage growth and inflation. With residential sale prices in the Greater Lansing Area increasing 11.2% in 2021, owning a home is becoming further out of reach for many. Rent is also increasing at an unsustainable rate. With a limited housing supply, we must support further residential construction that fits the community. Even if the new construction is financially out of reach for many, the increased supply will decrease the pressure on rising costs.
I am passionate about voting rights, economic policies to save people money, and government transparency and accountability.

Voting rights are at the core of all policy. We must preserve the uninhibited right to vote so residents can decide policy and their elected officials. From there, elected officials should prioritize policy to improve the community and support residents. For me, I am deeply interested in economic policy solutions that saves money for working people to continue investing in their future. Lastly, government decisions should not be made in the dark. There should be plenty of opportunities for community input and information should be easily accessible, not just public. Voters are critical from start to finish.
Elected officials should be committed to prioritizing the needs of residents. It is essential for elected officials to reach out and engage with constituents to achieve that. Political transparency and accountability are critical, and that burden rests on elected officials to disseminate information.
I want to leave a legacy of selfless dedication to improving the wellbeing of our community. Having experienced my own challenges in life, I want to do all I can to use the power of government to support people instead of harming communities. There is so much potential for a better world, but there are obstacles we need to overcome. I want to do everything I can to set us on a path towards a stronger future.
