Lane Lewis was a 2015 nonpartisan candidate for At-large Position 1 of the Houston City Council in Texas. Lane Lewis lost the general election on November 3, 2015.

Lewis worked as a social worker and in a psychiatric hospital before earning his master's degree in education from the University of Houston, Downtown. During that time, he also co-founded a youth center. After receiving his master's degree, Lewis worked as an elementary school teacher and then became the chief compliance officer at a charter school. He was an advisor for the Houston Police Department for over 20 years, serving on the Police Academy, Police Advisory, Citizen Review and Administrative Discipline Committees.[1]

The city of Houston, Texas, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 24, 2015.[4] In the race for At-Large Position 1, Mike Knox and Georgia Provost defeated M. "Griff" Griffin, Lane Lewis, Tom McCasland, Chris Oliver, James Partsch-Galván and Jenifer Rene Pool in the general election. Knox defeated Provost in the runoff election on December 12, 2015.[5][6]
