Lansing L. Haynes is a judge for the First Judicial District in Idaho.[1] Haynes was appointed to the position by former Governor James Risch in August 2006 and was elected to the seat in 2010. He was re-elected in May 2014 for a term that expires in January 2019.[2][3][4]

Education

Haynes graduated from Twin Falls High School. He earned his undergraduate degree from the College of Idaho. He received his J.D. from the Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon.[4]

Career

Prior to being appointed to the First Judicial District in 2006, Haynes served as the chief deputy prosecuting attorney in Kootenai County for about 18 years. Prior to that, Haynes worked for the Canyon County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. He also served in the Ada County Public Defender's Office.[4]
