Larry Arnowitz
Larry Arnowitz (Democratic Party) was a member of the St. Louis Board of Aldermen in Missouri, representing Ward 12. Arnowitz assumed office in 2011. Arnowitz left office on March 3, 2020.
Arnowitz (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the St. Louis Board of Aldermen to represent Ward 12 in Missouri. Arnowitz won in the general election on April 2, 2019.
He was first elected to the board in 2011.[1] He resigned on March 3, 2020.[2]
Arnowitz died on May 6, 2021.[3]

The city of St. Louis, Missouri, held elections for Board of Aldermen on April 7, 2015. A primary election took place on March 3, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was January 2, 2015.[4]
In the Democratic primary election for Ward 12, incumbent Larry Arnowitz defeated Rafael Hernandez. Arnowitz ran unopposed in the general election.[5]

Noteworthy events
Indictment and resignation
On March 4, 2020, a grand jury indicted Arnowitz of mail fraud in connection with his illegal use of campaign funds. A statement released by federal prosecutors stated that Arnowitz spent money raised by his political campaign for expenses that were unrelated to the campaign. Arnowitz had resigned from his position as alderman prior to the indictment. On March 3, 2020, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that Arnowitz's resignation letter cited "personal reasons," and that Arnowitz's defense lawyer indicated he would turn himself in to authorities the following day.[2]
On August 28, 2021, Arnowitz was sentenced to one year in prison and six months of house arrest.[6]
