Larry Axelrood is a former Democratic judge of the Cook County Circuit Court Subcircuits in Illinois. He was elected to this position on November 6, 2012, to replace Judge James Epstein.

Education

Axelrood received his undergraduate degree from Indiana State University and his J.D. degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law.[1]

Career

Axelrood began his career at the Cook County State's Attorney's Office as a prosecutor. He then worked as a private practice attorney for 16 years prior to his appointment as Associate Judge of the Cook County Circuit Court in 2005. In 2012, he was elected circuit judge of the Cook County 9th Subcircuit.[1][2]

Axelrood was elected to the Cook County 9th Subcircuit without opposition on Nov. 6, 2012. He previously won the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012, receiving 38.24% of the vote in the four-way race.[3][4][5]
