Larry Monroe Boyle was a federal magistrate judge of the United States District Court for the District of Idaho. He was appointed to this position in 1992 and retired on September 27, 2008.[1] Boyle then served for a time as a recalled magistrate judge.[2] Judge Boyle died on November 23, 2017.[3]

Education

Judge Boyle received a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in 1968 and a J.D. from the University of Idaho in 1972.[4][5]

Career

In 1972, after law school, Boyle worked briefly as a law clerk for the Supreme Court of Idaho. He then co-founded and became a partner of the law firm Hansen, Boyle, Beard & Martin, where he practiced for 14 years. In 1985, he was the president of the Seventh Judicial District Bar Association. The following year, he was appointed District Judge for the Seventh Judicial District of Idaho. In 1989, he was appointed to the Supreme Court of Idaho. He became a magistrate in 1992 and retired in 2008.[4]
