Larry E. Schwartz was a judge of the Colorado 4th Judicial District. He left office in 2020.

Schwartz ran for re-election for judge of the Colorado 4th Judicial District. He won in the retention election on November 6, 2018.

Schwartz was appointed to the court in 1997.[1] He retired in May 2020.[2]

Education

Schwartz received his undergraduate and J.D. degrees from the University of Colorado.[3]

Career

Prior to joining the district court, Schwartz served as a deputy district attorney.[1]

Judicial performance evaluation

The Fourth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance announced its recommendations for judges up for retention in 2012. According to its website, the commission evaluates judges based on the following criteria: integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament, and administrative performance.[3]


Judge Schwartz was recommended for retention by an unanimous vote. [5]
