Larry Green
Larry Green was a member of the Houston City Council in Texas, representing District K. He was elected to the council in 2011.[1] Larry Green won the general election on November 3, 2015. Green died in March 2018 and a special election was called to elect someone to the remainder of his term.[2]
Biography
Green received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Houston and a J.D. from Texas Southern University. He works as an attorney in a private practice. He has experience with the following organizations:

- Board trustee, Brentwood Baptist Church
- Board member, Texas Black Expo
- Member, College of Science and Technology Advisory Board at Texas Southern University[3]

- Excerpt: "We plan to use special events, social media and partnerships with environmental organizations, community groups and civic clubs to educate residents on how to make District K greener, healthier and more eco-friendly. We will also implement methods of cleaning up the neighborhood, while suggesting ways to maintain a green environment."
Neighborhood improvements[5]
- Excerpt: "Continue to coordinate with TxDOT on the streetlights installation project along the US 90A corridor. Upon completion, the installation project will finally illuminate the South Main St. corridor from I-610 to Beltway 8."
- Excerpt: "Continually work with the Department of Neighborhoods to identify dangerous/unsound buildings throughout the district and get them on the City’s demolition list."

The city of Houston, Texas, held elections for mayor and city council on November 3, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 24, 2015.[6] Incumbent Larry Green ran unopposed for District K.[7]
