The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Curtis Hertel defeated Larry Hutchinson and Harold Leeman, Jr. in the Democratic primary. Craig Whitehead was unopposed in the Republican primary. Hertel defeated Whitehead in the general election.[1][2][3][4]
