Larry Kawaauhau was born in Oahu, Hawaii. He served in the U.S. Army as a range safety technician. Kawaauhau earned a bachelor's degree in business management at the University of Phoenix. Kawaauhau served as a president of a homeowner's association in Hilo.[1]
