Larry Marek
Larry Marek was a Democratic member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing the 89th District from 2009 to 2011.
Marek works in the Farm Operations Program at Iowa State University. He has served in the Iowa Army National Guard.
Marek is a member of the Iowa Cattlemen's Association, Iowa Corn Growers Association, Assistant Soil Commissioner/County Soil Commissioner with the Iowa Soybean Association, member of the Pork Producers of Iowa, Saint Mary's Catholic Church, Washington County Compensation Board, Washington County Extension Council, Washington County Fair Board, and the Washington County Farm Bureau.[1]

Marek lost his bid for re-election to the 89th District seat against Jarad Klein (R). Marek had no opposition in the Democratic primary. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[2]

2008
On November 4, 2008, Marek was elected to the 89th District Seat in the Iowa House of Representatives, defeating Jarad Klein (R).[3] Marek raised $285,817 for his campaign, while Klein raised $175,724.[4]
