Larry Marvin
Larry Marvin (Democratic Party) ran for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Nebraska. He lost in the Democratic primary on May 12, 2020.
Marvin ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in 2012, 2014, and 2018.
Biography
Marvin was born and raised in Nebraska and served in the U.S. Air Force, working as a translator in West Germany.[1] He later taught German, American history, and civics in Nebraska.[2] Marvin is retired, but his professional experience also includes working as a "hardware store owner...real estate broker and landlord, volunteer firefighter, and meat packing facility worker." He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.[1]
Marvin is a property taxpayer in Brown, Cuming and Dodge counties.[3]

Marvin ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. Senate, representing Nebraska. He sought the nomination on the Democratic ticket, but he was defeated by Bob Kerrey in the May 15, 2012 primary.[4]
