Larry Means was a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 10 of the Alabama State Senate.

Means was a member of the Alabama State Senate, representing District 10 from 1998 to 2010. He also served on the city council of Attalla, Alabama from 1976 to 1980 and 1984 to 1988 and was the mayor of Attalla, Alabama from 1992 to 1998.

Biography

Mean earned his B.S. in business administration from Jacksonville State University.

Elections for the Alabama State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014; a runoff election took place where necessary on July 15, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 7, 2014. Larry Means was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Phil Williams was unopposed in the Republican primary.[2][3][4][5] Williams then defeated Means in the general election on November 4, 2014.[6]

Means ran for re-election to the 10th District seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. He was defeated by Phil Williams (R) in the November 2 general election.[7]
