Larry Noble
Larry Noble was a Republican member of the Iowa State Senate, representing District 35. Noble was the Commissioner of Public Safety for the City of Ankeny. He then joined the Iowa State Senate in 2007. On December 17, 2010, then Governor-elect Terry E. Branstad named Noble as the commissioner of the Iowa Department of Public Safety. Noble resigned his position of senator, effective the same day.[1] A special election to fill the vacant seat was held on January 18, 2011, electing Jack Whitver (R) to replace Noble.[2]
Noble has worked in the following positions: Police Officer of the Warrenburg Police Department, Instructor of Law Enforcement and Professionalism, State Trooper for the Iowa State Patrol Governor's Security Detail, Special Agent for the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, Assistant District Commander for the Iowa State Patrol, and Administrative Operations Officer for the Iowa State Patrol.
Noble earned his B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration from Central Missouri State in 1973.

Noble won re-election to the 35th District Seat in the Iowa State Senate with no opposition. He received 27,563 votes.
Noble had no opposition in the Republican primary election on June 8th.[3]

2006
On November 7, 2006, Noble was elected to the 35th District Seat in the Iowa State Senate, defeating Merle O. Johnson.[4] Noble raised $289,818 for his campaign, while Johnson raised $264,558.[5]
